Note the date formats: format 1 uses DDMMYY (2-digit year), format 2 uses DDMMYYYY (4-digit year), the legacy YONO format uses DDMM (no year at all). Leading zeros are required, so 5 January is 0501, not 51. And since SBI's system change in early 2026, the instruction shown on screen or in the covering email sometimes does not match the actual password, so try format 1 even if the text tells you something else. The trap in format 2 that SBI never documents: first names shorter than 5 letters are padded with spaces to 5 characters.

    YONO SBI statement password format

    For statements downloaded from the YONO app or emailed since early 2026, the password is the last 5 digits of your registered mobile followed by your date of birth in DDMMYY. SBI's own example: mobile ending 12345, born 16 September 1982, password 12345160982.

    Older YONO email statements used a different format: date of birth in DDMM, then @, then the last 4 digits of your mobile, like 1210@5467. If neither opens the file, the statement may use the name format instead; work down the table above, or let the tool on this page try to recover the password for you automatically.

    SBI credit card statement password (SBI Card)

    SBI Card is a separate company and uses a separate format. For current statements the password is your date of birth in DDMMYYYY followed by the last 4 digits of the card number. Born 15 August 2000 with a card ending 5432, the password is 150820005432.

    Older SBI Card statements used the full 16-digit card number instead, so if the current format fails on an archived PDF, try the card number on its own.

    Why is my SBI statement password not working?

    Usually because the formula depends on the download channel and the covering text does not say which one applies, or is simply wrong since SBI’s early-2026 system change. Try the last 5 digits of your mobile plus date of birth in DDMMYY first. Other common causes: a first name shorter than 5 letters that needs padding with spaces to 5 characters in the name-based format, or the wrong date format (DDMMYY for the mobile format, DDMMYYYY for the name format, always with leading zeros).

    What is the SBI statement password if my first name is shorter than 5 letters?

    Pad the name with spaces to 5 characters before the date of birth. For Dev born 28 November 2003, DEV28112003 fails; DEV followed by two spaces and then 28112003 opens the file. SBI does not document this anywhere, and it is the most common reason short-named customers cannot open their statement.
