Rotate PDF Pages
Turn pages that were scanned sideways or upside down, then save a permanently rotated copy. Everything runs in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.
This free tool rotates the pages of a PDF and saves the rotation into the file, so the document opens the right way up everywhere, permanently. Rotate every page at once or fix individual sideways pages, preview the result on live thumbnails, and download the corrected PDF. No signup, no watermark.
The most common cause is a scanner or phone scan that saved pages in landscape, or a mixed document where one page came out upside down. Rotating in a viewer only changes your view; this tool changes the file. And because everything runs locally in your browser, the document is never uploaded.
How to rotate a PDF and save it
- Select your PDF
Drag a PDF into the box above or click to browse. Every page appears as a thumbnail so you can see which ones are turned the wrong way.
- Rotate pages
Use "Rotate all" to turn the whole document by 90°, or click the rotate button on individual thumbnails to fix single pages. Each click turns by another 90°.
- Check the preview
The thumbnails show exactly how each page will be oriented in the saved file, so you can correct a mix of sideways and upside-down pages in one pass.
- Download the rotated PDF
Click "Rotate PDF & download". The rotation is written into the file itself, so it opens correctly in every viewer, on every device.
Rotate and save, not just rotate the view
Every PDF viewer has a rotate button, and it fools people daily: it rotates your view and forgets the change the moment you close the file. The recipient still opens a sideways document. Saving the rotation means changing the page orientation stored inside the PDF itself, which is exactly what this tool does: it edits each page's rotation property and writes a corrected file, without re-rendering anything.
Because the pages are not rasterized or recompressed, the rotated PDF keeps everything the original had: selectable text, bookmarks, links, form fields, and full image quality. It is the same document, just the right way up.
Fix a scan where only some pages are sideways
Batch scanners routinely produce documents where most pages are fine but a few came through rotated, a landscape table in a portrait report, or a page that was fed in upside down. Rotating the whole document would break the correct pages, so this tool lets you fix pages individually: each thumbnail has its own rotate button, and you can turn any page by 90°, 180°, or 270° independently before saving. One pass, one corrected file.

Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a PDF and save it permanently?
Drop the PDF into the tool above, rotate all pages or individual pages using the thumbnails, and click "Rotate PDF & download". The rotation is saved into the file itself, so it opens the right way up in every viewer from then on.
Can I rotate just one page of a PDF?
Yes. Every page appears as a thumbnail with its own rotate button, so you can turn a single sideways page while leaving the rest of the document untouched.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The rotation happens locally in your browser and the file never leaves your device, which makes this safe for contracts, statements, and other private documents.
Does rotating reduce the quality of the PDF?
No. The tool only changes each page’s stored orientation; nothing is re-rendered or recompressed. Text stays selectable, links and bookmarks keep working, and images keep their full quality.
Why does my PDF open sideways in the first place?
Usually because a scanner or scanning app saved the pages with the wrong orientation flag, often when pages were fed in landscape or upside down. The content is fine; only the stored rotation is wrong, which is exactly what this tool corrects.
Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?
Not directly: encrypted files cannot be edited. Remove the password first with our free Unlock PDF tool, then rotate the unlocked copy.
